Rocco is a handsome gray tabby who is almost a year old now, and while he may no longer be a tiny kitten, he still has plenty of youthful energy and playfulness. He came from a rough beginning, found living outside on someone’s property doing his best to survive as part of a feral group. Life outdoors taught him to be cautious, so learning to trust people has taken time—but Rocco has come incredibly far.
Still living in a loving foster home, Rocco has slowly discovered that people can mean comfort and safety. While he can still be shy and startles easily, his personality shines through more every day. He has progressed to seeking out attention on his own terms and now enjoys scratches, pets, cuddles, and cozy naps in laps when he feels secure. Sometimes he’ll even greet his people at the door when they come home.
Rocco would still do best in a quiet, patient home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. Sudden noise and busy environments can make him nervous, so a calm household will help him thrive. He would likely do best with another friendly cat, both for companionship and because he enjoys having a playmate.
Even as an older kitten, Rocco still has lots of energy and loves to play. Keeping him entertained is important because when he gets bored, his curiosity can lead him into mischief—especially involving paper products. Paper towels, toilet paper, mail… if it crinkles or tears, Rocco may decide it belongs to him.
Rocco isn’t the kind of cat who instantly trusts everyone he meets, but for someone willing to give him patience and understanding, he offers something special—the joy of watching a cautious little survivor continue learning what it means to be safe, loved, and finally home.
